If you’re any sort of proper geek, you know that this week is the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago. We’ve got our mobile notifications on and our emails are full of news about Disney and Star Wars.
We have our favorites – we don’t just turn on our mobile notifications for just anyone – so here are a few of our preferred resources for pop culture geeks.
Why? Gizmodo – or “Giz” or short – is a design, technology, science and science fiction website. It was originally launched as part of the Gawker Media network run by Nick Denton. Gizmodo also includes io9, which focuses on science fiction and futurism. The site covers stories in technology, science, toys, and more.
Why? Whether you worship Marvel or DC and you already know which Hogwarts house you belong in, ThinkGeek is the place for fans of all levels of geek.
Hangout: WDW News Today
Why? WDW News Today (WDWNT) is the most up-to-date resource online for news and information on the Disney Parks worldwide. They produce various podcasts and videos and though they’re not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company, I’ve found they’re usually among the first in my Twitter feed to have the most up-to-date news on what’s happening in the Disney parks.

Why? Thrill Geek offers theme park and pop culture news, photos, and videos from Disney World, Disneyland, Universal Studios and more places that geeks just love!
Hangout: SciFi Pubcast
Why? The pub is a science fiction discussion show with “bar-style” conversations about themes and topics in science fiction and the genre’s impact on the universe at large.

Why? Her Universe is the leading fangirl fashion company and lifestyle brand. It was started by the amazing Ashley Eckstein, actress, entrepreneur, and voice of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
