As a parent and a frequent traveler, the more time I can spend without my phone having to be connected to a charger is more time I can spend doing the things I need to. We’ve purchased travel batteries that were anywhere from small and convenient to bulky and powerful. The benefit of our new Lenmar Halo Galaxy S4 Power Case is that it’s both a case and extra power for our Samsung S4 battery.
Putting the case on is done very easily; there is a battery housing and a two-piece shell casing that snaps together. There are cutouts in the case that allow for charging, headphones, camera and camera flash. The 2600mAh battery allows for more time away from your charger and the relatively slim white case protects your phone from front to back.
The Lenmar case has one benefit that many other cases or batteries are without – it’s NFC compatible. This will allow you to exchange information from phone to phone and use apps like ISIS to pay on-location with your Lenmar case on your phone.
The power case is charged using a standard micro USB, however we found that the setup of the case made charging a little difficult, as the connector wouldn’t fully make contact. We also noticed that the case is a little hard to grip with it’s smooth surface.
The cost is around $59.99 which is pretty reasonable considering the battery life. It is lightweight and would be ideal for travel or a day on the road. Our friends at Lenmar are giving one lucky reader a Halo Galaxy S4 Power Case!
