Our family is a unique one, but I’m thankful for every unique, weird, awkward, loving and hug-filled moment that we have. This is Ella, my littlest angel. She lives with me. She lives next door to her dad, at least until we’re done building our home. Her dad and I are no longer together, but he’s never stopped being the best dad he can be to Ella and that’s all that a parent can ask for and more than some parents can say. Bathtime bonding is among their favorite moments together.
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for AVEENO. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotion item to thank me for participating.
Ella loves her daddy and the time they spend together. Her favorite time is bath time and they have the sweetest routine. She helps him help her get clean, they sing, they count, they play. There’s been many times when she’s told me she wants to go to daddy’s instead of being with me, that she’d rather do tubby time with daddy, not mommy.
I don’t take offense, I don’t cry, I don’t guilt because I know that I’m lucky she has such a sweet daddy that loves spending time with her. While living next door to your ex is a unique situation, our being apart is not. The norm these days seems to be extended families and exes and new marriages, but ours is unique because there’s very little drama and lots of love. We’re grateful.
This Father’s Day, make sure to make a point to let daddy and your little ones enjoy some sweet bonding time together, whether it’s in the bathtub or their favorite park!
