It’s Not Just Concept Cars At NAIAS: Meet The Cast Of Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3!

What better location could there be to view the newest extended trailer of Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3 than in the Motor City at the North American International Auto Show? Did you know that it’s at the NAIAS that the movie Cars got its start?

While covering the latest concept cars and newest available models from leading car manufacturers, I got a sneak peek at the new trailer for Cars 3, I was able to meet the Lightening McQueen, and was introduced to the newest cars that were cast in the film!

In less than a week, the new trailer has received well over 3 million views and I could feel the excitement for the new film in a room full of car enthusiasts, gasping at what they saw.

No long the hot shot rookie, Lightning McQueen is now the veteran race car struggling to keep up with the next generation of high-tech racers.

Meet Jackson Storm

Cars 3 Jackson Storm

Jackson Storm is like no rookie you’ve seen before. Voiced by the very sexy Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger, The Social Network), Storm is a very fast, sleek, and ready to race. His training was far different than that of McQueen’s and included high-tech simulators that help Storm perfect his technique and maximize velocity. For intents and purposes, he’s built to be unbeatable which shakes McQueen a bit on the track and off.

Meet Cruz Ramirez

Cars 3 Cruz Ramirez

Sleek Curz Ramirez, voiced by Cristela Alonzo (Cristela, Mind Of Mencia) is closer to Jackson Storm in age, but she’s on Lightning McQueens side of the fight. She’s been a lifelong fan of McQueen, and her fierce but friendly disposition is exactly what McQueen needs. Ramirez is his new coach, hoping to help him cross the finish line ahead of the younger competition.

The Redesigned Lightning McQueen

No longer the hot-shot rookie taking the racing world by storm, 15 years later, he’s not fighting for his place on the track. Owen Wilson (Cars, Zoolander) returns at the voice of McQueen. Perhaps with his new paint job, a little redesign, and a new trainer, he can compete with the new tech-trained rookies and win his next big race.

Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3 opens in theaters June 17th!
