My favorite breakfast as a kid was always peanut butter and banana waffles with strawberry milk. Now that I’m older, I’m no longer a fan of flavored milk, but I still adore making homemade peanut butter and banana waffles, without a doubt!
We can’t always make homemade for our kids, especially during busy weekdays, but hopefully these Peanut Butter and Banana Waffles with Fruit Spread will be an easy solution for your family during the weekends.
Why your family will love making homemade waffles
The combination of peanut butter and banana is likely matched only by peanut butter and chocolate as far as the greatest duos in history.
This post was sponsored by our friends at Jif and Smuckers but nonetheless, they’re already our preferred brands. Quality ingredients make a difference and an easy homemade waffle recipe like this will certainly become a family favorite!
Peanut Butter and Banana Waffle Recipe
Once I made these Peanut Butter and Banana Waffles for my family, plain waffles just didn’t compare any longer. In fact, my daughter started to request that we make extra on the weekends so that I could pack them in her lunches! It never occurred to me before, but with the protein that Jif provides and the delicious sweet taste of Smucker’s® Fruit Spread, it’s the ideal lunch combo.
These delicious peanut butter and banana waffles are perfect for breakfast, packed in a lunch in place of a boring sandwich, or frozen for a busy weekday morning breakfast on the go.
Why are peanut butter and banana such an amazing combination?! It’s like chocolate and peanut butter – I guess you can’t have one without the other. But, in case you’re not a banana fan, you could easily replace the banana with other fruit.
My 8-year-old loves to help making this recipe, especially when it comes to mashing the bananas. This is the perfect recipe for which to use those beat up, browning bananas. The more ripe they are, the sweeter the batter!
Once you mix the ingredients together, pour the batter onto your waffle iron and get the Smucker’s Fruit Spread ready! I also like to add just a touch of powdered sugar to the top; Ella calls it “Snow Sugar” so it seems fitting for this time of year.
Making School Lunches Extra Special With Jif
My kiddo lately seems to be having a hard time making friends at school. This can be tough for many kids, especially if they’re shy and even if they’re highly intelligent for their age.
I’ve told her that the key to my being able to make friends when I was in school was to make them laugh! Her response: “But I don’t know any good jokes.”
Girl, I can help you with that.
Jokes are easy, but making friends is hard. I get it. So I like to wrap one of her favorite snacks – Jif Power Ups® Snacks – in parchment and include a little note with a joke of the day. That way, she can tell her friends a good joke and maybe share her snack with a friend.
Why Jif Power Ups®?
You might not have heard of Jif Power Ups® yet because they’re fairly new. These delicious, individually wrapped snacks solve the unmet need of parents to serve snacks that are portable, contain ingredients that make them feel good about feeding their kids, and that kids love.
Jif Power Ups® are available in Chewy Granola Bars and Creamy Clusters with peanuts as the #1 ingredient.
