The ‘Second Skincare’ Your Family Needs For Sensitive Skin #SecondSkincare

The coolest stuff happens when you click these buttons!

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for P&G. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. All opinions and reviews are my own.

Poor Ella, cursed with my sensitive skin. She may not have gotten my red hair or my freckles dotted onto my skin like a map of the solar system, but we both experience itches, rashes and bumps that often seem like they’ve appeared from nowhere. Trying to figure out what it is that affected our skin in some way on any given day is a challenge, but our laundry detergent is never the issue now that we use P&G Free & Gentle laundry products.

Just like the lotions and body washes we use, the detergents and fabric softeners we use touch and can affect our skin and the way it reacts. They’re considered a ‘Second Skincare’, but P&G Free & Gentle products offer sensitive skin sufferers such as my daughter and I a hypoallergenic, dye and perfume free option while still maintaining the effectiveness of brands that we trust, such as Tide, Downy and Bounce.

You might be surprised at how many people in the U.S. report having skin sensitivities. Did you know that it’s more than half of Americans that could benefit from the P&G Free & Gentle line of products? When our skin reacts negatively, we often immediately think about which lotions or body washes we use, but our laundry touches our skin every day, all day.

The P&G Free & Gentle products are made up of dye and perfume free products that offer sensitive skin sufferers a hypoallergenic routine that is gentle on skin.

Here’s another great benefit we’ve found by using the P&G Free & Gentle line of products; the boys aren’t leaving the house smelling of a field of flowers or lavender. While they appreciate the clean laundry, I’m certain they’ve appreciated even more the switch to Tide, Downy and Bounce – all Free & Gentle formulated – that don’t contain floral or perfumed scents. Their clothes smell clean, not like a summer breeze. Their clothes are clean because we’re still using the same brands that we know work.

You can find the Free & Gentle collection in

  • Tide Free & Gentle Detergent / Tide Stain Release Free In-Wash Booster
  • Downy Free & Gentle Fabric Softener
  • Bounce Free & Gentle Dryer Sheets

We’d love to hear from you! How would your family benefit from the Free & Gentle line of products from P&G?

  • I think I have skin sensitivity to laundry products. There is one brand that I know I can’t use (itchy with minor rash). I wonder about other products and what irritations I experience that may be related to them. It would be cool if people could test more easily.
